Phillips proffessional cold blue A very simple but cheap way to re-blue shotgun and rifle barrels. Simply degrease all the parts you wish to re-blue, wire wool any rust away and then place in a shallow trough and mix with tap water. Totally immerse the parts and ensure they are totally covered by the liquid. Frequently brush the surface of the metal with short strokes. The metal surface will darken first bronze then blue then a very dark blue. This will take about 3 minutes. When the desired colour has been reached simply remove wash thoroughly then immediatly spray with gun oil. Thats it! Its that simple.
